It’s my first read of 2020!! I’m going to do my best to put up my reviews from books I read this year as well as Backlist reviews. The main difference will be in the title of the post. Without further ado:
This was an enjoyable read, but for whatever reason I was NOT expecting this to be about fey! Ivy Morgan is your typically college student, until she gets to her extracurricular activities. Most twenty-two year olds don’t spend their evenings hunting wicked fey that are trying to break into the human realm. When Ivy finds that Ancient Ones still exist in the world, she’s unsure how to stop them from destroying life as she’s known. It doesn’t help that her boss thinks she’s crazy.
Enter Ren Owens. Tall, handsome, brooding with secrets. Basically you’re typically love interest. But god damn do I love him!! Ugh Ren was amazing. I loved seeing him fall for Ivy and vice verse. Their relationship was so adorable. But man, I really wanted to strangle Ivy when she’d run away from her feelings. Sometimes she truly was a coward.
The plot was fun and I enjoyed it. However, that ending was SO full of cliches! I mean I still enjoyed them, and I had a feeling it was coming, but like agh Jenn I thought it would be different! Last thing I want to mention. Ivy and her brownie friend, Tink!! Tink was so great. I loved his humor and how much he cared for Ivy. Seriously friendship goals.
